August 22, 2010: Four Lakes 10k, Garden Bay

A scenic, 'back to basics' summer 10k run in Garden Bay from Katherine Lake to Hotel Lake and back, passing Garden Bay Lake and Mixal Lake along the way. We'll be adding a 3k Family Fun Run/Walk in 2010. Details at www.foolsrun.com/4lakes/.

September 26, 2010: Loon Lake 13.2km and 7km

A beautiful trail run in Powell River. It is a dead flat 13.2 kilometre wheelchair accessible trail around the very edge of the lake. It starts and finishes at a fully serviced campground with a full-time caretaker. The weather at the end of September is practically flawless in Powell River. Where else in coastal BC can you run on 13+ kilometres of wide manicured trail around a lake without even a bump? The biggest single gain of elevation — The Hill — is about 8 to 10 vertical feet!!!!! As well, for people or youth wanting to run a shorter distance, there is the Anthony Island 7k — an out & back utilizing the final 3.5k of the full lake trail — again, dead flat. First 100 entries get a shirt (entry fee $25).

October 17, 2010: Sechelt Fall Tune-Up Cross Country

Fun XC meet for all ages on the trails and campsite roads in Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. Bring the whole family. Race distances from 1.3k for 8 & Under, to 6k for open/masters. www.falltuneup.com
