September 26, 2010: Loon Lake 13.2km and 7km

A beautiful trail run in Powell River, on a dead flat 13.2 kilometre wheelchair accessible trail around the very edge of the lake. It starts and finishes at a fully serviced campground with a full-time caretaker. The weather at the end of September is practically flawless in Powell River. Where else in coastal BC can you run on 13+ kilometres of wide manicured trail around a lake without even a bump? The biggest single gain of elevation — The Hill — is about 8 to 10 vertical feet!!!!! For those wanting to run a shorter distance, there is the Anthony Island 7k — an out & back utilizing the final 3.5k of the full lake trail — again, dead flat. First 100 entries get a shirt (entry fee $25). See Avid Fitness website for details.

Display clock will be set up so you can see your time.

February 13, 2011: Tour de Trail 5k/10k

Challenging and fun trail run in Powell River. Big climb in the middle of the 10k but well worth the effort for the long decline on the far side of the loop. 2010 saw 150 runners in both events. Great post-run breakfast on site. See Avid Fitness website for more info.
